Biography of Dennis Bone – 2008

The Rose by Dennis Bone
The Rose
This painting was completed in the summer of 2006.

As an artist, Dennis Bone works strictly in oils. He is a self taught artist and stresses fine detail and realism in his work. He has been serious about painting since 1985. His career in aviation inspired him to do aviation art as one of his many subjects.
To begin a painting, Dennis takes a photograph of his subject matter. He then makes a detailed drawing on paper, and then transfers it to a canvas. Then the painting begins to take place. His work gets critiqued by family and friends during this process. A painting can take 3-4 months to complete depending on subject matter and details. No painting is complete until he is completely satisfied with it.

His work has been displayed in many New England Galleries and has been a member of The York Art Association, Society of New England Artists, Chelmsford Art Society, and the Tewksbury Community of Artists, where he has won many awards for his work. You can see his work on his website:www.dennisboneart.com

Dennis was born and raised in York, Maine. He continued his education at East Coast Aero Tech. After graduation he spent 4 years with the USAF. When discharged, he went to work for FedEx where he still works. He now resides in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with his wife, Elaine.

He has two sons, two granddaughters and a grandson. He has been in the aviation field since 1970. His goal after retirement is to spend more time painting.
