Gallery of Diane T. Francis dibuck4wh@comcast.netBiography Diane Francis grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, Massachusetts and a Masters of Art Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She teaches at the Carroll School and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Diane lives in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters. Diane’s pastels, oil paintings, mono-prints, prints and sculptures have been exhibited in a number of galleries and art festivals and they have won major awards. Diane’s artwork is in many private collections. Presently, Diane is exploring color to transform the everyday into masterful works of art. Examining the broad character of the ordinary through the exploration of form, color and composition creates a luscious illusion of dimension on the flat surface. The artist is able to bring to life the surfaces of each object through her layering of vibrant dense colors and textures. The sophistication brought to these objects through her impressive imagery and elegant artistry is evidence of this artist’s commitment to the process of art making.
