Gallery of Mavis Willegal

Since an early age, Mavis had an attraction for the arts. She studied art and painting techniques at Miami Dade Community College. Later on, she continued to work on her painting skills in
Tewksbury where she has been an avid student in some of Tewksbury's most renowned local artists.

Mavis' collection of paintings includes oils, watercolors, and acrylics. Her paintings are full of bright colors and vibrant life. She has won several awards in the New England area at different art events such as the yearly Tewksbury Art Festival and the Wilmington Art Show.

Mavis has been the Chairperson of the Tewksbury Community of Artists non-profit Organization for the last 8 years. Prior to that, she coordinated the Public Relations function for the organization for 4 consecutive years. In addition to running the Tewksbury Community of Artists
Organization, Mavis teaches watercolor in the after-school program at Dewing Elementary School. She speaks English and Spanish, loves to listen to Latin music and to dance. Her passion is to teach painting.
